As our Business Development Representative Team Lead you’ll own the outbound engine end to end: who we target, how we reach them, what we say, how it’s tracked in HubSpot, and how qualified opportunities get handed to our Account Executives. It’s a role for someone who enjoys both sides of the job — developing people and getting into the detail of sequences, data and conversion rates.
You’ll report to our Head of Marketing and work closely with Sales and Revenue Operations.
What you’ll do
Lead the team. Hire, onboard and coach a team of BDRs. Run regular 1:1s, team stand-ups and call-coaching sessions. Build a clear ramp plan for new starters and a visible career path from BDR to senior BDR or AE.
Deliver the numbers. Own monthly and quarterly demo booking targets across each OneTouch product line. Manage daily activity KPIs, conversion at every stage of the funnel, demo show rates and speed-to-lead on inbound enquiries.
Work the right accounts. Maintain the Ideal Customer Profile and target account lists with Marketing and Sales across the UK and Ireland. Own list building, data sourcing and enrichment, HubSpot data hygiene, and compliant outreach under GDPR and PECR.
Turn campaigns into conversations. Translate marketing campaigns, product launches and events into outbound sequences, call scripts and talk tracks. A/B test messaging, report on what works, and feed objections and lead quality insight back into Marketing.
Protect demo quality. Set and enforce qualification criteria with Sales leadership. Own the BDR-to-AE handoff, the SLAs around it, and the feedback loop that keeps demo-to-opportunity conversion moving in the right direction.
Run it on data. Own the BDR reporting suite in HubSpot — activity, sequence performance, conversion funnel, pipeline sourced. Forecast demo volume and pipeline contribution, explain variances, and spot underperformance early.
Build the machine. Maintain HubSpot sequences, workflows, lead routing and templates. Administer the BDR tech stack and budget. Keep playbooks current, test new cadences and channels, and strip out admin so the team spends its time talking to prospects.
Plan and set targets. Agree annual and quarterly targets with the Head of Marketing and CCO, cascade them to individual BDRs, maintain a capacity model, and administer the team’s commission plan.
What you’ll bring
- At least 3 years in sales development or business development in B2B SaaS, including 1+ year leading or coaching a team — ideally an outbound or demo booking team
- Hands-on, day-to-day HubSpot experience (Sales Hub and/or Marketing Hub): sequences, workflows, lead routing, lifecycle stages, lead scoring, custom properties, reports and dashboards. You can build and maintain the team’s set-up and reporting yourself
- Genuine coaching ability and a track record of developing people
- Strong outbound instincts — multichannel cadence design, sharp written messaging, and a feel for what makes a prospect reply
- Comfort with data: forecasting, target setting, and making decisions from the numbers rather than the anecdote
- The collaborative style needed to work across Marketing and Sales
Nice to have
- RevOps or Sales Ops experience — funnel and lifecycle design, lead routing and SLAs, attribution and pipeline reporting, CRM governance, tech stack administration, commission plan administration
- HubSpot certifications (Sales Hub Software, Reporting, RevOps)
- Experience selling into UK or Irish health and social care, or another regulated market
- Experience with diallers, data enrichment tools and LinkedIn Sales Navigator
- Working knowledge of GDPR and PECR as they apply to outbound prospecting
- A bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or a related field
